Posterzine
Posterzine for the book My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh. I aimed to highlight the main character's personality through illustrations and contrasting colors. The introduction for the author acts like a VHS tape case, as the main character watches a lot of Whoopi Goldberg movies on VHS. The zine also functions as a poster that can be hung on a wall; with a quote from the book and the main character reimagined in real life with her belongings.
Rakun Zine
This zine is dedicated to the Istanbul based street artist Rakun and explores his style. He was, and still, is an inspiration to me. I went to the locations where his works can be found and photographed them to create this zine, and understand his style more. The transparent cover acts like a layer between the wall behind and it is hand binded.
Film Buff
BUFF Magazine’s first issue, Film BUFF. An imaginary magazine serving an interesting compass for geeks of cinema. BUFF Magazines strong concept of creating a source for any kind of interest will lead the magazine into a continuous series. Images generated with Midjourney and illustrated by me. öz
Öz is a Turkish word and it means core in English. This photo zine highlights how people feel lonely even when they are surrounded by others. How do I know that? I'm sure you have felt lonely when you were in a crowd full of people, because it is such a human thing to do so. These pictures were taken in one of the most crowded and touristy places in Istanbul. I first printed the photographs, cutout the silhouettes, pasted thin lace and red paper underneath the cutout, and finally scanned the final result.
